Boxes with Distracting Text

If the text on the outside of the box is too distracting, turn the box inside out. Simply pull the sides apart at a seam and then hot glue or tape them back together after reversing. Boxes may also come with flaps. If yours does, have these at the bottom by turning the box upside down. They help keep the box square. Cutting them down makes it easier to work with.

Directing Helpful Kid Energy

As we know, kids want to help or do things on their own, so to avoid problems, give them a job like cutting out the different fairy tale cottage elements from the various sheets while you're doing the major construction work.

Boxes with No Lids

If the box lid is missing or damaged beyond repair, you can make a new one. Instructions for a deluxe gable roofline are also available.

Why to Use Tempra Paint

Tempra paints dry very quickly so you should be able to apply sheets almost immediately after painting.

Making Straight Door Jambs

Use a straight edge to draw your lines first before cutting.

Using Grass to Maximum Effect

By wrapping one grass strip around a corner of the box, the complete effect may be attained (one continuous line of grass on two sides).
